Job Summary
Job Description:
A Boiler Operator (Field Operation)safely operates monitors and maintains industrial boilers and auxiliary equipment (pumps fans water treatment) to ensure efficient continuous steam or hot water production. They perform routine inspections log data troubleshoot malfunctions and adhere to strict safety/environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Control:Start up shut down and adjust boilers (fuel air water levels) using control systems (DCS/PLC) or manual valves to maintain required pressure and temperature.
- Monitoring & Inspection:Perform hourly field checks on gauges meters and safety valves; check for leaks unusual noises or malfunctions.
- Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning lubricating machinery and water treatment/chemical dosing.
- Safety Compliance:Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards managing boiler blowdown and safety devices.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate detailed logs of operational data maintenance activities and repairs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus technical training in mechanical/electrical systems.
- Valid 1st or 2nd Class Boiler Operator certification (as required by local regulations).
- Experience with high-pressure boilers turbines or power plant operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read technical manuals.
Physical Requirements:Ability to work in confined spaces lift heavy equipment climb ladders and work rotating shifts in apower plant or industrial setting.
