Shady Oak Beach is open June 6th August 16th. We are seeking team-orientated ambitious energetic and experienced individuals with strong leadership and customer service skills. Working at Shady Oak Beach will develop skills and experiences geared towards professional development: problem-solving communication customer service leadership teamwork inclusion & diversity.
Job Overview:
The Facility Supervisor assists the Shady Oak Beach Manager in the daily operations and supervision of the front gate concessions lifeguards head-lifeguards and shift leads. As a Facility Supervisor you will assist in personnel functions such as orientation training scheduling and evaluations. The Facility Supervisor will need to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated. A Facility Supervisor should possess strong leadership qualities with the ability to solve problems and assist concession attendants gate attendants lifeguards and head- lifeguards as well as patrons at Shady Oak Beach. Ideal Facility Supervisors possess flexibility and understanding on how to lead diverse personalities and work styles. You must possess full knowledge of the Shady Oak Beach EmergencyDuties/Responsibilities
- Communicates professionally effectively and concisely with staff and with the public
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with management maintaining open communication and mutual respect to best support the goals operations and guest experience at Shady Oak Beach
- Strong understanding of all Shady Oak Beach positions and operations with the ability to recognize how each role contributes to overall efficiency safety and guest experience
- Performs various activities including but not limited to opening and closing the concessions stand the front gate assisting lifeguards head-lifeguards and shift leads in all duties
- Understands follows and enforces all beach facility rules. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive public image by immediately addressing questions and concerns from staff patrons participants and parents. Contact and ask for assistance from the manager when necessary
- Knowledge of all emergency procedures pertaining to the Shady Oak Beach emergency action plan (EAP)
- Willing to obtain lifeguard certification (if not already certified) to support safety standards and operations at Shady Oak Beach (training would be provided)
- Ensures appropriate cash management procedures and follows food safety guidelines set by state health regulations
- Maintains cleanliness and a hazard-free environment; performs various custodial duties such as sweeping picking up trash and sanitizing all facilities within the beach area
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Available to attend job-specific training scheduled throughout the season
- Available to assist with pre-season preparation staff training and operational setup
- Minimum of 1-2 years of prior leadership experience demonstrating the ability to supervise and guide staff manage responsibilities and provide excellent customer service
- Must be 18 years old at the time of hire
- Minimum of 30 hours of weekly availability
- Must be available to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays
- Ability to commit to employment for the majority of the summer season (mid-May through mid-August)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lifeguard certification preferred (not required training will be provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent; or college/university experience
Additional Information
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Moderately physically demanding work typically involving a combination of occasional climbing stooping kneeling and crouching. Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 30lbs or heavier items (300lbs) with assistance. When working outdoors staff are exposed to all types of weather conditions
