About the Opportunity
A well-established hospital in Savannah Georgia is seeking an experienced RN Manager Mother Baby to lead a high-performing postpartum unit. This 600 bed facility serves a multi-county region across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina and is recognized for advanced specialty services including trauma care womens services and neonatal care.
This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a dedicated and tenured nursing team within a collaborative Womens Services department.
Unit Overview
22-bed Mother/Baby (Postpartum) Unit
Average Daily Census: 15 patients
29.5 FTEs
Reports directly to the Director of Womens Services
Direct supervision of RNs CNAs and Unit Secretaries
Position Summary
The RN Manager Mother Baby is responsible for the overall operational clinical and administrative management of the unit. This includes planning organizing staffing budgeting and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centered postpartum care.
The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise in Mother/Baby and Postpartum nursing along with proven leadership skills to effectively support and guide an experienced nursing team.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the Mother/Baby unit to ensure safe efficient and high-quality patient care.
Develop and implement policies procedures and care standards in collaboration with senior leadership.
Manage staffing scheduling performance evaluations and team development.
Monitor patient outcomes and quality metrics ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment focused on patient-centered care.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote best practices in postpartum care.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or active Compact/Multi-State RN License.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing required; Masters Degree preferred.
BLS and ACLS certification required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 60 months of hire if not currently certified.
Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience in Womens Services (acute care setting).
At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
Strong background in Mother/Baby and Postpartum care with demonstrated leadership capability.
