Work Mode: Hybrid - 3 days onsite
At minimum each efficiency audit must:
- Address all statutory elements of an efficiency audit in Chapter 327 Texas Government Code;
- Examine whether state resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve intended outcomes and whether they are used for purposes other than those goals;
- Identify and recommend cost savings and reallocation of resources to improve effectiveness of audited programs;
- Identify opportunities for improved services through consolidation of functions outsourcing or elimination of duplicative efforts; and
- Provide conclusions findings and recommendations in a report prepared in accordance with Section 327.005 Texas Government Code.
Qualifications
- Experience with efficiency audits of governmental entities.
- Experience auditing under Government Auditing Standards (published by the U.S. Government Accountability Office).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Texas state government operations budgeting and performance measurements.
- Sufficient personnel expertise for audits of large complex state agencies.
- Capacity to meet deadlines and legislative reporting requirements.
