The Opportunity
The National Addiction and Mental Health Surveillance Unit (NAMHSU) is leading a Medical Research Future Fundsupported program () to strengthen evidence on addiction self-harm and mental ill health. The multidisciplinary study will analyse 20 years of binational cohort and cross-sectional data link administrative datasets and establish a new cohort. It will examine how alcohol availability affects adolescent and young adult health informing policy services and economic responses.
An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Fellow to support the design and delivery of this complex program ensuring rigorous methodology data integration and high-quality outputs. The role includes managing large linked datasets preparing ethics and governance documentation coordinating milestones across investigators engaging stakeholders and a Community Advisory Group and contributing to publications and reports to ensure timely project delivery.
We are seeking a candidate with a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent multidisciplinary research experience. Strong expertise in data collection management and advanced analysis is essential alongside a proven publication record proficiency in Stata and Microsoft Office and the capacity to contribute to competitive grant development.
