Position Summary:
The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for planning coordinating and overseeing all phases of HVAC construction projects from initiation through completion. This role will need to be available to support scheduling tracking and controlling field activities to ensure work is executed efficiently and in alignment with project specifications. The HVAC Project Manager works closely with field teams subcontractors and internal employee-owners to maintain progress resolve issues and support successful project execution.
Core Job Functions:
- Oversee all phases of HVAC projects from initial planning through final completion.
- Review analyze and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes; clearly communicate key differences and provide informed recommendations to the Superintendent and Foreman.
- Develop project budgets forecast costs and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and organize all project manuals documentation and records.
- Participate in project meetings provide project updates and address questions related to scope progress and technical details.
- Provide on-site oversight to monitor project progress and ensure quality control.
- Assist in managing all subcontractor activities including scheduling scope coordination and processing change orders.
- Prepare and respond to written and verbal correspondence as required for project communication.
- Create track distribute and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Support management of the on-site project team to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and company operational standards.
- Review and approve subcontractor payment applications; issue and track purchase orders; verify delivered materials against purchase orders.
- Assist the Superintendent and Foreman with procurement planning to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with general contractors subcontractors suppliers and the broader construction team.
- Manage change order processes using electronic systems and ensure accurate documentation.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project.
- Track control and report on project progress identifying issues or delays as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of punch lists and outstanding closeout items.
- Support preparation and submission of all project closeout documentation per contract requirements.
- Assist in resolving budget deviations scheduling conflicts and other project challenges.
- Obtain review and process all project submittals while ensuring compliance with project specifications and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer operations including Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and Office 365; strong ability to organize and manage email communication efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with field personnel subcontractors engineers clients and owners.
- Proven leadership abilities with demonstrated success in leading and supporting projects.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and determine effective solutions.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction project management including scheduling budgeting and field coordination.
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify correct and prevent errors.

- Adequate vision including close vision distance vision color vision and depth perception to review drawings observe work quality and conduct site assessments.
- Safely navigate construction environments and use hearing protection where required.
- Work in various weather conditions including heat cold rain snow and wind during site visits.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats safety glasses high-visibility vests work boots hearing protection and gloves.
- Ability to drive frequently including to job sites across the region and occasionally for overnight travel.
- Bend kneel reach and move around active construction areas to observe work or gather information.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for computer use typing handling documents and using mobile devices.
Work Conditions:
The HVAC Project Mansager will primarily work in an office environment but will also conduct regular visits to active job sites. Site visits may involve exposure to a wide range of weather conditions including extreme cold heat wind rain and snow. Job sites may also be impacted by water mud and other environmental factors.
This position may require working at elevated heights using approved safety equipment as well as exposure to high-noise environments where hearing protection is required and provided. The Project Manager must be able to navigate active construction areas safely while adhering to all job site safety protocols.
