Senior Buyer

Sao Paulo Brazil

ROLE PURPOSE

The Buyer is responsible for the execution of Procurement activities related to day-to-day supplier management of Direct Materials and Tolling. The buyer will also develop and control relevant KPIs for Procurement area build strategies to deliver saving targets reduce risk improve quality and service as well as develop and deliver a procurement plan which meets or exceeds targets and expectations.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and manage supplier and materials KPI metrics sourcing strategy RFQs contracts and agreements.
  • Create Purchase orders new vendors and other system related activities.
  • Ensure the supply of direct materials to the plants facilitating the resolution of day-to-day issues related to on-time deliveries quality problems and supply/service problems.
  • Work with main stakeholders to ensure alignment of activities and priorities.
  • Develop a strategy aiming the consolidation of suppliers reducing the supplier basis.
  • Develop influential and positive stakeholder relationships to ensure regional and global category buy-in
  • Ensure savings targets and reporting requirements are delivered on time.
  • Drive innovation & continuous improvement culture within operations where Tate and Lyle is the customer of choice.

  • Proven expertise in leading sourcing process and implementation in LATAM region.
  • Proven expertise with Direct materials purchasing is essential to this role.
  • Expertise with Tolling management is desired for this role.
  • Ability to manage small medium and large supplier relationships.
  • Ability to filter demands and prioritize properly.
  • Ability to successfully develop and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Market understanding of Ingredients Packaging or Chemicals proven by demonstrable experience.
  • Experience and understanding of risk management tools and techniques.
  • Performing market assessments trends and recommending mitigation action plans.

COMPETENCIES SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communications skills and confidence working with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Problem Solving
  • Results oriented
  • PC literate including MS office suite of standard programs
  • PowerBi would be advantageous
  • Procurement (RFIs RFQs strategies Policies and Procedures)
  • Systems experience: TOTVS SAP Power BI
  • Degree in a Business or Technical discipline
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and intermediary Spanish
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Presentation skills
