Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Manager with deep expertise in IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) and proficiency across other leading software asset management (SAM) tools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing software assets ensuring compliance with licensing agreements optimizing software usage and supporting audits across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
IBM ILMT Management
oAdminister configure and maintain IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT).
oMonitor sub-capacity licensing compliance for IBM software.
oGenerate validate and present ILMT reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
oEnsure ILMT is aligned with IBM audit requirements and corporate governance standards.
Software Asset Management (SAM)
oOversee the lifecycle of software assets across the organization.
oImplement and manage other SAM tools (e.g. Flexera ServiceNow SAM Pro Snow License Manager).
oTrack reconcile and optimize license usage across multiple vendors (Microsoft Oracle SAP Adobe etc.).
oMaintain accurate software inventory and entitlement records.
Compliance & Audit
oPrepare for and support vendor audits (IBM Microsoft Oracle etc.).
oEnsure compliance with contractual obligations and licensing terms.
oIdentify risks related to software licensing and propose mitigation strategies.
Optimization & Cost Management
oAnalyze license usage to identify opportunities for cost savings.
oRecommend strategies for license consolidation harvesting and optimization.
oCollaborate with procurement and finance teams to negotiate favorable licensing agreements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
oPartner with IT procurement finance and legal teams to align SAM practices with organizational goals.
oProvide training and guidance to stakeholders on software compliance and asset management best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) including deployment configuration and reporting.
Proficiency in other SAM tools such as Flexera Snow ServiceNow SAM Pro Aspera or Open iT.
Solid understanding of software licensing models (IBM PVU Microsoft O365 Oracle SAP Adobe etc.).
Experience in managing vendor audits and compliance reporting.
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex licensing data.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL certification or equivalent experience in IT Service Management.
SAM-related certifications (e.g. IAITAM CSAM ISO 19770 familiarity).
Experience in cloud licensing models (AWS Azure SaaS applications).
Background in procurement or contract management.
