This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and expansion offering the chance to join a well established and forward thinking practice with a strong presence across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or someone close to qualification who is looking to take the next step within a supportive and reputable general practice environment. Candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
The Role
As an Accounts Senior you will play a key role in managing a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors. You will be responsible for delivering high quality accounts and related services while supporting junior team members and building strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies sole traders and partnerships
Producing management accounts and financial reports
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
Assisting with corporation tax computations and personal tax returns
Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
Supporting and mentoring junior staff reviewing their work where appropriate
Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Assisting with year end processes and deadlines
Identifying opportunities to add value and improve client processes
Supporting partners and managers with ad hoc assignments and project work
You will be encouraged to take ownership of your portfolio and build long term relationships with clients.
Requirements
About You
The successful candidate will ideally be newly qualified ACA or ACCA although those who are nearly qualified or qualified by experience will be considered.
You will have:
A minimum of three years proven experience within an accountancy practice
Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation within a general practice environment
Experience working with a broad range of clients
Good knowledge of accounting software packages
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A proactive and organised approach to managing deadlines
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
