Job Summary

  • Serve as the Districts policy liaison with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Policy Service. Maintain the districts policy manual and ensure the timely publication and communication of policy updates.
  • Support the Executive Director in managing and administering election operations and compliance including interpreting and implementing statutory requirements affecting district elections.
  • Design implement administer and monitor the districtwide policy development process including the creation revision repository management and retirement of Board policies and administrative regulations.
  • Review and validate policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations and local board governance standards. Analyze legislative and regulatory trends to proactively recommend policy updates.
  • Lead and supervise staff responsible for Board agenda management and policy administration including delegating assignments providing professional development and delivering performance feedback.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and ongoing governance training for the Board of Trustees regarding policy roles responsibilities and governance processes.
  • Advise the Superintendents Cabinet and executive leadership team on governance policy and compliance implications related to proposed initiatives administrative regulations and districtwide handbooks.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure the legal sufficiency and alignment of all Board policies and governance documents.
  • Provide training and technical support to district leaders principals and central office staff on new or revised policies and the Board agenda management system.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to enhance governance efficiency transparency and stakeholder understanding of district policies.
  • Facilitate monthly policy meetings with the Board Policy Chair and executive leadership to ensure consistent implementation and enforcement of district policies.
  • Required Bachelors Degree from an accredited university.
  • Preferred Masters Degree from an accredited university.
  • Required 5 Years of Experience as Paralegal.
  • Required 5 Years direct ot related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal state and local laws and regulations relating to public education and related issues affecting school organization.
  • Demonstrated skill in conveying clear and concise oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate manage analyze evaluate and summarize policies and present recommendations in a clear and concise manner to district personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others and multiple projects/programs; problem solve and use of technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a team member.
