Inserts and manages vascular access devices for patients undergoing medical treatments.
Essential Functions:- Assesses patients vascular access needs and determining the most appropriate access device.
- Cares and maintains peripheral intravenous catheters midline catheters and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
- Monitors patients vascular access devices for complications such as infection occlusion and extravasation.
- Provides education to patients and their families on vascular access care and maintenance.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and efficacy of vascular access care.
Education Requirement:BSN required.
Licensure Requirement:Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio required.

Skills: - Clinical skill and knowledge in the nursing care of children including normal growth and development and/or clinical expertise in specialized area required.
- Effective customer service communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities required.
- Professionally appropriate analytical and organizational skills required.
Experience:Three years related clinical experience in area of specialty preferred.
