GE Vernova Wind is looking for an experienced professional to work on challenging assignments in a cross functional engineering discipline for fleet issues with high business impact.
The role will entail working independently to program manage top RCAs with subsystems RCA leaders matter experts and stakeholders in a global matrix-ed organization and ensure timely and complete resolution fleet technical problems.
In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to drive problems resolution drive execution of action plans for containment correction and prevention in partnership with engineering RCA leads sites supply chain quality. You may also take direct ownership and lead some RCA.
The position requires sound understanding of engineering concepts problem solving & project management methods and procedures.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Program manage top RCAs to achieve timely and robust issue resolution. Develop plans together with the functions involved in the RCA and ensure execution in alignment with business needs
  • Understands analyze and estimate business impact (availability local interventions) or risks to define priorities for the subsystems - work with leadership to ensure workstreams are effective on track and prioritized
  • Create and maintain program timelines to meet critical deadlines
  • Track program progress against plans and report on key metrics - achieve KPI (D5<140 for non MCU RCAs)
  • Facilitate regular meetings with RCA leads and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns/issues slowing progress identify potential risks and develop mitigations identify opportunities to accelerate resolution
  • Defines reporting methods for RCAs across the organization
  • Get control on new non conformities participate/lead CIN scoring and work together with subsystems teams to form RCAs team on new emerging critical issues
  • Communicate and report progress status to leadership team
  • Own internal & external (customer) communications related to RCAs coordinate stakeholder input providing information and formats based on need and audience.
  • Work across multiple components and products as an integrated system for maximum performance and operability
  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Improves and defines RCA methodology process and tool in partnership with main stakeholders
  • Partner with Commissioning Service Sourcing and Engineering to deliver best in class solutions as quickly as possible
  • Support RCA leads in partnering with Sourcing on vendor recovery of supplier-caused defects. Support commercial and technical discussions with our suppliers to achieve field quality issue resolution.
  • You may also drive systems / cross functional RCAs and top issues following 8D methodology

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in engineering or technical discipline from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant work experience preferably in the wind industry.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Detailed understanding of the product development cycle and wind turbine systems.
    • Detailed understanding of the 8D problem solving process.
    • Program management experience
    • Positive resourceful clear and strategic thinking problem solver mindset. Able to think outside of the box to bring creative sustainable solutions to complex scenarios.
    • Proven RCA expertise and project closure.
    • Proven analytical and learning skills facilitating in breaking down problems documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
    • Good written and verbal communication skills and working in global team environment enabling seamless communication on execution status issues and resolutions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Product reliability mindset.
    • Strong field and customer mind-set. Experience with internal and/or external customer communications particularly with product quality topics like RCAs.
    • Influential leadership experience with credibility the ability to partner energize and focus teams to deliver on priorities.
    • Self-starter with personal ownership and accountability.
    • Ability to understand business processes issues and concerns and translate into solutions.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams.
