Job Summary
ICF is seeking an entry levelClean Transportation Researcherresponsible for planning and completing project tasks related tovehicle electrification alternative fuels emission reduction transportation decarbonization and advanced technologies in thetransportation sector. Work may include research and writing related to the costs and benefits of advanced vehicle technologies and alternative transportation fuels development of policy and program recommendations to support accelerated deployment of zero emission vehicles research on industry trends writing reports and developing presentations. Work primarily supports federal clients such as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy.
This is a full-time entry level position that will start in Summer 2026 and will work a hybrid schedule from either ICFs Crystal City (Arlington) VA or Cambridge MA office (depending on individuals location). Anticipated pay for this position is annualized to be in the mid $60K range.
Key Responsibilities
Staying current and connected with theelectric and alternative fuel vehicle market including trends policies key players and more
Analyzing locations forelectric vehicle charging infrastructureand/or stations for alternative fuels
Staying current and connected with theelectric and alternative fuel vehicle market including trends policies key players and more
Leading or supporting the development and deployment of communications outreach and training resources including case studies fact sheets webinars in-person events presentations and other opportunities
Developing innovative accurate timely and high-quality products and services typically working as part of a team
Data collection and maintenance
Interacting and communicating with clients
Basic Qualifications
By start date a complete bachelors degree in transportation environmental science energy public policy or a related field
Due to contract requirements U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Skills
Fluency in Spanish
Policy and regulatory context surrounding transportation energy and alternative fuels
Government support in deploying electric/alternative fuel vehicles or related program implementation
Public agency consulting
Electric vehicles and Alternative fuels
Alternative fuel vehicle market research and data collection experience
