Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to lead complex building projects in our Ottawa office. This is a key leadership role in our growing team focused on Alternative Delivery projects (Design-Build IPD P3 MDB) for public and private sector clients.

As a Senior Architect at AECOM you will have the opportunity to own the design process lead client relationships and shape project outcomes while working alongside award-winning professionals in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. This role offers exposure to large-scale high-profile projects in Ottawa and across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and project delivery on Alternative Delivery projects

  • Serve as the primary client interface managing expectations and building strong relationships

  • Provide strategic oversight for multi-disciplinary teams ensuring design intent is realized from concept through construction

  • Prepare and review design documentation construction details specifications and cost estimates

  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership within the team

  • Collaborate with internal and external consultants contractors and stakeholders

  • Contribute to business development proposals and project planning initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code and established architectural standards


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture

  • Licensed Architect with the OAA

  • 6 years of experience on complex building projects

  • Proven experience with Alternative Delivery models (Design-Build IPD P3 MDB)

  • Proficiency in Revit

  • Client-facing experience with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Eligible for security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Architecture or equivalent experience

  • Deep knowledge of Ontario Building Code and building systems

  • Experience in project management for large-scale projects

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD SketchUp Photoshop and other visualization tools

  • Experience with permitting and approvals processes in Canadian municipalities

  • Ability to lead design workshops and high-level client presentations
