A successful and growing engineering manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established design office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to build long-term technical capability within a supportive professional engineering environment. The role

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will support the design team across a range of mechanical engineering activities contributing to the development production and support of engineered products.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing and checking mechanical component and assembly drawings

• Supporting manufacturing and assembly with accurate technical documentation

• Working closely with electrical design and software teams to ensure designs meet project and customer requirements

• Providing technical support to production service teams subcontractors and suppliers

• Assisting with design changes revisions and continuous improvement activities

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation within the design office

• Occasional travel to other UK sites suppliers or customer locations when required

This role is primarily office-based and offers hands-on exposure to the full product lifecycle.

About you

This role would suit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking to develop their skills within a structured design environment.

We would be keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• A degree HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

• Some experience or understanding of mechanical design assembly or manufacturing environments

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

• A methodical approach with strong attention to detail

• Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software would be beneficial but full training and support will be provided.
