DescriptionJob Summary
Under indirect supervision manages womens health care focusing particularly on pregnancy childbirth the post-partum period care of the newborn and the family planning and gynecologic needs of women. Practice within the health care system and perform consultation collaborative management Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patients health problems and serve in various settings as researchers consultants and patient advocates for individuals families groups and communities. Performs comprehensive assessments diagnoses and manages illness and disease. This position is responsible for 1 shift 8 hours/day 5 days per week. incumbents are subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Develops a plan of care within scope of practice of the nurse practitioner utilizing written protocols to ensure quality patient care.
- Uses prescriptive authority procedures referrals treatments and theories in accordance with state/federal laws and regulations.
- Enhances quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Supports life long learning.
- Completes assigned goals.

Experience
Minimum Required
- 1 year clinical experience functioning in the nurse mid-wife role.

Education

- Either a Masters or Doctoral level as a nurse practitioner.

- Computer literate. CPR/BLS
