The post holder will lead Barnets commissioning response to the DfEs special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and alternative provision (AP) reforms which include national standards strengthened multi agency working improved transitions and a three tier AP system.
They will work collaboratively across education health and care partners through Barnets SEND & AP Strategic Partnership Board promoting strong transparent governance and shared accountability to translate Barnets local vision - to ensure all children and young people with SEND can achieve their potential within an inclusive local area - into commissioning activity and market development plans.
We are looking for a committed and forwardthinking SENDand Alternative ProvisionCommissioner to lead and deliver acommissioning portfolio across education health and social care for children and young people aged 025. This is anewrole that will influence how Barnetdeliverskey services andoutcomes forchildren with SEND now and in the future.
Youwill haverobustknowledge of theregulatory legislative and policy context for SEND combined with extensiveexperience of commissioningservices for childrenwithin a complex environmentstrong analytical andproblemsolvingskills and a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
You will be confident working across organisational boundaries influencing partners and managing multiple priorities in afastpacedsetting.
