DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Entry-Level Oil Technician supports the manufacturing operation by assisting with lubrication oil changes fluid monitoring and basic equipment maintenance for injection molding machinery. This role helps ensure equipment reliability safety and smooth production flow.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine oil changes on injection molding machines hydraulic units and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor fluid levels lubrication points and oil quality; report abnormalities to maintenance leadership.
- Conduct basic inspections of hydraulic systems and assist with preventative maintenance tasks.
- Collect and label oil samples for analysis and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Clean and maintain lubrication equipment tools hoses and storage areas to ensure proper operation.
- Follow established safety procedures including proper handling and disposal of oils and lubricants.
- Assist maintenance technicians with minor mechanical tasks as needed.
- Support documentation by updating maintenance software or checklists after completing work.
- Help track inventory of oils filters and lubrication supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment lubrication practices.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions safety procedures and maintenance documentation.
- Comfortable working around machinery hydraulic systems and industrial oils.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts including possible overtime or weekends based on production needs.
- Dependable work habits punctuality and strong commitment to safety.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel couch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
