The school is seeking a hands-on technically skilled DT Technician to support both practical workshop lessons and design-based projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing materials tools and resources for DT lessons
Assisting with CAD/CAM operations including 3D printers and laser cutters
Maintaining machinery tools and workshop equipment
Supporting students during practical tasks ensuring safe usage
Managing stock levels ordering supplies and tracking inventory
Ensuring adherence to health & safety and risk assessment requirements
Assisting with displays prototype modelling and coursework support
Providing technical assistance during GCSE and A-Level project work
Maintaining a clean safe and compliant workshop environment
Supporting the DT department in delivering high-quality practical learning
This role is ideal for someone practical safety-conscious and confident working with tools and machines.
Previous DT Technician or workshop-based experience
Strong understanding of machinery tools and safety procedures
Ability to use CAD/CAM equipment (training can be provided)
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
Practical problem-solving mindset
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
