The City of Auburns IT Department is acentralized one-stop-shopof technology services. We are looking for an eager IT studentto join us this summer for somereal world experience!

Most IT departments stand for Information Technology. However Auburns IT Department stands forInnovation and Technology and that key difference can be found in our core values. Not only do we support each staff member of the City but we support other local citiesand are apart of regional consortiums to share costs but maximize the services provided.

While IT supports and maintains every software application computer tablet server networking device database phone printer and multi-function copier in the City we believe themost important thing we support is our customers.

Primary Duties

In this role you will have opportunities to meet and support many different City employees throughout multiple departments and professions. Based on support of different departments the duties you perform will vary.

We feel that the key values this internship will provide are:

  • Hands-on experience building and deployingmobile devices
  • Hands-on experience taking live technical support calls
  • Core troubleshooting experiencein a large scale enterprise
  • Experience in key security principlesdeployed to protect the City
  • Experience in documenting ITIL scenarios

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Be enrolled in any general IT programat an accredited College or University
The perfect candidate will have somebasic understanding of what a computer is and how to use it! We are also looking for people who have used Windows 10 or Windows 11either personally or in a business setting.

We are asking for a commitment through our 10-week program fromJune 15th - August 21st. Preference will be given to candidates that are available to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the program.If you are a top candidate your availability and assigned schedule will be discussed with you before moving into the background check process.

Our core business hours are Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour for lunch. We are physically in the office every day and you will have an assigned City issued computer! This position is not eligible for remote work so you must be able to commit to being onsite to be considered for this role.

Additional Information

The pay rates for this position will be offered as follows:

Freshman & Sophomores: Step 1 - $20.00

Juniors & Seniors: Step 2 - $21.58

Postgraduates: Step 3 - $23.15
