Position Overview The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is a key member of the interdisciplinary care team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist the COTA assists in delivering restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services both in a clinical center setting and in participants homes.
The role focuses on maximizing independence safety and performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for frail and elderly participants with complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities -
Administer treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist

Assist with vital signs monitoring range of motion and strength testing

Coordinate with rehabilitation team members to implement individualized care plans

Deliver and document occupational therapy interventions per established plans of care

Utilize therapeutic devices techniques and activities to promote:

Schedule participant treatments and clinical visits

Support billing processes
-
Track and maintain therapy equipment
Minimum Qualifications -
Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program

Degree obtained outside the U.S. must be evaluated as U.S. equivalent
-
Valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License or proof of eligibility
-
Minimum two (2) years of OTA experience in a clinical setting with frail or elderly populations
-
Strong understanding of treating elderly participants with complex needs
-
Reliable transportation
