Job Summary

Role Title: AI Application Engineer (Agentic AI & Automation)

Domain: Custom Industrial Automation & Robotics
Job Location: Cleaveland Ohio (US Eastern Time Zone)
Assignment Period: Starting 6 months extendable to long-term if found fit

Position Summary

This is a greenfield self-driven role.

AI Engineer will be the first and primary AI Engineer for the organization.

AI Engineer will not just write code but will also interview reporting Project Director / Department Heads (Mechanical Engineers using Solidworks PLC Control Programmers Project Managers) to understand their bottlenecks design an Agentic AI solution and deploy it.

AI Engineer will build Agentic AI models that autonomously query databases read technical PDFs Microsoft files and update ERP systems to reduce manual work by 50 80%.

Key Responsibilities Agentic AI Development (Python-First)

Design and deploy Agents that can reason and act.
Example: An agent that reads a Mechanical CAD Bill of Materials (BOM) checks stock in the ERP system and flags long-lead items automatically.

Full-Stack Integration

Connect AI models (OpenAI / Anthropic) to internal enterprise tools via APIs and SQL.

Target Systems:
SOLIDWORKS (CAD) Total ETO (ERP) SAGE (Finance) Smartsheet and Microsoft 365.

Internal Product Management

Translate vague business problems (e.g. Quoting takes too long) into a concrete technical roadmap with milestones and delivery dates.

RPA & Scripting

Build glue code (Python scripts ETL jobs Power Automate flows) to eliminate repetitive data entry between systems.

Collaboration

Act as the technical bridge between the non-technical Project Director and external Enterprise Systems OEMs (ERP Software CAD Design Software etc.).

Governance & Training

Establish version control (Git).
Write clear documentation for non-technical users.
Train engineering teams on how to use the new tools.

Required Experience & Skills Education

B.E. / in Computer Science Mechatronics or Software Engineering.

Core Technical Stack (Must Have)

Python Mastery: Strong grasp of scripting data structures and backend logic.

Agentic AI Frameworks: Proven experience with LangChain CrewAI AutoGen or direct implementation of the OpenAI Assistants API.

Data Integration: Hands-on experience with REST APIs SQL and parsing unstructured data (PDFs Excel).

Communication

Exceptional English (Verbal & Written).
Ability to explain complex AI concepts to Mechanical Engineers with zero software background.

Project Ownership

Ability to take a project from Idea to Deployed Tool without day-to-day technical supervision.

Preferred Qualifications (The Ideal Candidate)

Experience working in a Manufacturing Supply Chain or Industrial environment.
Familiarity with low-code tools (Power Automate Zapier) for quick task automation.
Exposure to engineering software (SolidWorks PDM PLCs or ERPs) is a massive plus.

Success Metrics

Reduction in Manual Hours: Measurable time saved in engineering and quoting processes.
Tool Adoption: Number of internal users actively using the AI tools daily.
Accuracy: Reduction in human error (e.g. missed parts in a quote).
