JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Job Overview: Schedulers play a vital role in the communication between the student workforce and the management team. Success in this position requires the candidate to uphold strong ethical and moral values as they can impact the work experience for hundreds of employees across the operation.
Hours: Weekly hours are based on operational needs: 24 hours/week Shift days/times flexible but must include hours on a weekend day
Responsibilities and duties: Communicate organizational practices to new hires during the scheduling session. Schedule student staff according to both the operational needs and the employees availability. Answer attendance inquiries from students and input student documentation into the scheduling system. Allocate points when necessary when proper call-off procedures are violated. Meet with Commons Desk Operations(CDO) Management team members and provide updates about the student workforce. Direct second-tier scheduling challenges to CDO Management Team when necessary.
Qualifications: Ability to communicate professionally; both written and verbal. Must have at least one year remaining of their degree program. Strong organizational skills. Must be punctual get along well with people be willing to work with diverse individuals.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working as a Common Desk Clerk or Student Manager and experience editing and maintaining a web-based scheduling system. Related Majors: Hospitality Management; Labor and Employment Relations (LER); Business Management; Psychology and many others.
