About the Role:
Arthur Cox is looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure and Cloud support engineer to join their growing IT operations team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining supporting and enhancing the firms core technology platforms. This includes onpremises infrastructure cloud services networks storage virtualisation and core compute environments.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary IT teams including cloud security service desk and applications to deliver stable secure and scalable infrastructure services.
This role also involves direct interaction with managed service providers to support smooth business operations and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management & Operations:
- Maintain configure and support onprem and cloudbased infrastructure including Cloud (M365) servers storage virtualization platforms and core network.
- Monitor system performance capacity and availability; implement improvements to ensure reliability and resilience.
- Perform regular patching updates and configuration changes in line with change management processes.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 and 2 teams.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements where required.
Cloud & Microsoft 365:
- Support and optimise M365 services including Teams Exchange Online and OneDrive and other related cloud services.
- Administer Entra ID Conditional Access policies MFA and device compliance.
- Monitor M365 service health and resolve issues (Tier 2 support).
Incident Problem & Change Management:
- Manage and resolve incidents within defined SLAs ensuring high-quality updates and communication.
- Follow ITIL-driven processes for change problem and service performance management.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security controls across infrastructure components in partnership with the security operations team.
- Remediate vulnerabilities apply patches and support Zero Trust principles where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with organisational regulatory and security standards.
Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement:
- Support the delivery of infrastructure projects upgrades and migrations.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernisation initiatives including cloud adoption/migration
- Identify opportunities for automation optimisation and simplification.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation support guidelines and runbooks.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field.
- 5 years experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related technical operations role.
- Certifications (Highly desirable):
o Relevant industry certification i.e. Cisco (CCNA/CCDA or higher) CompTIA etc.
o Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
o ITIL Foundation or similar service management awareness. - Azure Fundamental a plus.
- CISSP or similar security certification a plus.
- Experience with device analytics or monitoring tools

- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365: Teams OneDrive Exchange Online Intune and Entra ID.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware) storage systems and backup technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals LAN/WAN firewalls routing switching.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident Problem Change Management).
- PowerShell or other scripting language proficiency for automation tasks a plus.
