LOCATION:13777 Air Expressway Blvd. Victorville CA 92394 (This is a federal correctional environment)
SCHEDULE:40 hours per week 8 hours per day MondayFriday as needed between 6:00AM10:00 PM.
- To be considered applicants must provide verification of credentials (education current licensor/status competency continuing medical education).
- Must be certified to practice medicine in the state of California.
- Must have at least one or more years of experience.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
JOB DUTIES: Shall be responsible for but is not limited to:
- Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal ethical and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff
- Perform Licensed Practical Vocational Nurse duties within the scope of the current licensure
- Administer medications as prescribed i.e. by mouth intradermal subcutaneously or intramuscularly
- Assist with distribution of medications at pill line
- Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy
- Perform skin testing
- Assist with telehealth
- Take medical histories examine patients order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
- Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and AAAHC policy Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians
- Ensure all sharps are secured accounted for stored and disposed of according to institutional and national policy
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
- Ability and skill to operate EKG
- Clinically manage injuries by bleeding control bandaging splinting and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) consulting physician(s) and Nurses in planning instituting evaluating and revising program plans
- Assist in determining conditions resources and policies essential to delivery of healthcare services
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious
- physical emotional or mental problems
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call which may include securing health histories from the patient recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
- Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
- Perform duties as required but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation training experience and licensure laws
- Preform intakes on newly incarcerated or transferred inmates
- Prepare medical documentation for transferring inmates/patients
