JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Civil/Structural Engineer.

Reporting to the Manager Engineering this position is responsible to perform civil design analysis and program work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide civil design analysis and oversight into the Darlington New Nuclear Project
• Support the seismic qualification aging management and periodic inspection programs
• Working with the National Building Code of Canada Ontario Building Code CSA S16 CSA A23
• Working with CSA Nuclear Standards including N287 N289 and N291
• Working in a multi-disciplinary environment interacting with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in civil or Structural Engineering (a masters degree and/or PhD in either discipline would be considered an asset)
• P. Eng is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a civil or structural engineering role
• Experience in civil/structural design and analysis
• Experience working on large scale Infrastructure Heavy Industrial or Energy projects is considered an asset
• Experience working with the National Building Code of Canada Ontario Building Code CSA S16 CSA A23 etc.
• Experience working with CSA Nuclear Standards N287 N289 and N291 would be an asset
• Experience providing contractor design oversight
• Experience in structural engineering applications and computer programs is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
• Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario
