Job Summary

The University of Washington Department of Pediatrics Division of General Pediatrics and the Seattle Childrens Research Institute Center for Child Health Behavior & Development invites applications for a full-time Professor without tenure by reason of funding on the faculty-scientist track.Anticipated start date in Winter/Spring 2026.

Professorshold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The candidate is expected to sustain a funded research program at Seattle Childrens and the University of Washington in shared decision-making particularly around violence prevention and safety particularly among youth and young adults. The applicant will also be expected to contribute to our departments teaching and mentoring mission and should have extensive experience in teaching and mentorship of trainees focused on shared decision-making violence prevention and safety.

This position provides an opportunity to work at The Center for Child Health Behavior and Development (CHBD) at Seattle Childrens Research Institute. Applicants will have a faculty appointment at the University of Washington and will be part of a group of highly collaborative research scientists at CHBD with expertise in pediatrics health services research psychology biostatistics and epidemiology.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: $14584 - $19917 per month ($175008 - $239004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.



The ideal candidate for this position will have an established research program focused on shared decision-making particularly around violence prevention and safety particularly among youth and young adults

Candidates must hold a doctorate degree (PhD or foreign equivalent; MD or foreign equivalent is also acceptable) with documented expertise in health services research implementation science health policy epidemiology psychology child and human development sociology or other relevant fields with the specific research focus indicated above.

Successful applicants will have an extensive history of and existing research funding.
