Job Summary

Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) (MD/DO)

Position Summary

The Obstetrician-Gynecologist provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to women across the lifespan. This role includes obstetric care gynecologic care preventive health services and surgical management of reproductive health conditions with a focus on evidence-based patient-centered care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric care including prenatal care labor and delivery management and postpartum follow-up
  • Diagnose and manage high-risk and low-risk pregnancies as applicable
  • Provide gynecologic care including well-woman exams contraception counseling and management of menstrual and menopausal disorders
  • Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions such as fibroids endometriosis pelvic pain and abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Perform gynecologic and obstetric surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges including minimally invasive techniques
  • Perform cervical cancer screening colposcopy and other office-based procedures
  • Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine primary care pediatrics surgery and other specialists
  • Educate patients regarding reproductive health pregnancy and preventive care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement patient safety and clinical outcomes initiatives
  • Supervise and collaborate with residents advanced practice providers and clinical staff as applicable
  • Comply with all regulatory accreditation and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
  • DEA registration or eligibility

  • Ability to manage both routine and complex womens health conditions
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care

Work Environment

  • Outpatient clinics hospital labor and delivery units operating rooms and inpatient wards
  • Call coverage including nights weekends and holidays as determined by practice needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures and deliveries
  • Manual dexterity for surgical and office-based procedures
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient care and operative environments

Requirements

Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
