Role: Summer Counsellor Spark To Connect International Teen Program (July 2026)
Location: Oxford UK residential program
Contract Type: Temporary (Independent Contractor)
Programme Dates: 15 July 2026 2 August 2026
Training: Light virtual training from May 2026
About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic responsible Summer Counsellors to support an immersive academic and cultural program for 1518 year-old students from around the world.
Counsellors are at the heart of the student experience helping to create a safe inclusive and inspiring environment while supporting activities excursions and daily life. You will act as a mentor and role model encouraging confidence independence and global curiosity.
This role is ideal for university students recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in education youth development leadership psychology or international program.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and support students throughout the residential program
- Assist with cultural social and sporting activities
- Monitor attendance wellbeing and daily routines
- Support program staff with logistics and participant documentation
- Attend all required briefings meetings and training
- Uphold safeguarding health & safety and pastoral care standards
- Act as a positive role model at all times
- Additional responsibilities may be added
Who were looking for
Required
- Aged 20 or over
- Fluent in English
- Experience working with children or young people (camp tutoring mentoring coaching volunteering etc.)
- Responsible organised and able to work both independently and in a team
- Comfortable with active days including walking and outdoor activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- DBS background check
- Necessary work permit / visa in place
Desirable
- Background in education youth work psychology sport or leadership
- Experience in residential or international settings
Expectations
- Availability for virtual pre-program training
- Full availability on site for 15 July 2026 2 August 2026
- Positive professional and adaptable attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding confidentiality and student wellbeing
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods
