We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to lead and support a nursing home team in Meath Ireland.
Responsibilities
Support the Director of Nursing in the overall clinical and operational management of the nursing home ensuring high standards of resident care.
Act as a professional role model for registered nurses and healthcare assistants by promoting best practice accountability and person-centred care.
Monitor staff competence through regular observation spot checks and formal competency assessments providing mentoring and coaching where required.
Provide daily clinical support to nursing and care teams ensuring effective assessment care planning and accurate use of electronic care documentation systems.
Coordinate resident care in line with individual needs and current clinical condition promoting evidence-based practice in all aspects of care delivery.
Participate actively in governance and staff meetings contributing to quality improvement initiatives and service development.
Conduct and support audits (care plans medication management incidents risk and quality indicators) in line with the annual audit plan ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Promote and monitor compliance with health and safety infection control safeguarding and risk management policies reporting concerns appropriately.
Review incidents accidents near misses and medication errors regularly to ensure proper documentation follow-up actions and updates to risk assessments and care plans.
Support ongoing professional development by facilitating induction programmes coordinating mandatory and non-mandatory training and identifying learning needs to strengthen clinical competence and service quality.
Requirements
Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) with an active registration.
Hold a post-registration qualification in management (desirable).
Hold a post-registration qualification in care of the older person (desirable).
Have a minimum of five years post-registration nursing experience preferably within a nursing home setting.
Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical application of HIQA Standards relevant to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) role.
