The Social and Recreational Activities Assistant supports the instructor and encourages individuals participation in social recreational and community-based activities. The role focuses on promoting inclusion independence social interaction and accessibility in a safe supportive and engaging environment for individuals who may be neurodiverse or neurotypical enrolled in Village Memberships.
Rate of Pay:
Starting at $20.00 per hour. (Compensation commensurate with experience and education.)

Part Time and Full Time (Non-Exempt)
LOCATION:
Pico-Robertson (Westside of Los Angeles)
SCHEDULE:
Various (select the shifts that align with your availability) Flexible hours may be required including evenings or weekends
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Certificate or coursework in social services recreation education or a related field (preferred) Previous experience working with adults with special needs or developmental disabilities (preferred) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
REQUIRED ABILITIES and CORE VALUES:
Compassion patience and enthusiastic approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and engage individuals with diverse needs Ability to encourage and support participants engage in active programming Respect dignity and inclusion Person-centered support Safety and professionalism Positive engagement and empowerment Position may include indoor and outdoor settings community locations and group outings Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions (a plus but not required)
