DescriptionPosition Title: Custodian (Mornings).
Department: Facilities.
Classification: Non-Exempt.
FTE: 1.0.
Work Schedule: Varies with custodial assignment; occasional weekend and evening hours may be required (snow shoveling and commencement reunion and move-in weekends etc.).
Shift: Mornings 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Hourly Rate: $23 - $25.
NOTE: This Is A Morning Shift Position.
Essential Job Duties:
Clean floors.
Clean bathrooms/showers.
Clean horizontal and vertical surfaces.
Trash and Recycle.
Maintenance tasks.
Remove snow from building entrances sidewalks and steps.
Unplug the sink and toilet drains.
Replace light bulbs.
Report items needing repair.
Other related duties.
Assist in buildings with staff shortages.
Complete set-ups for events.
Move furniture supplies and equipment as needed.
Professional development and training.
Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
Basic skills in using standard office equipment and computer applications including email word processing spreadsheet and database or willingness to learn.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to the Custodial Supervisor.
- This position does not supervise staff or students.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Stable work history.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Vocational/Technical school training.
- Experience: Previous cleaning experience; operational experience with floor machines hydraulic man-lift snow blowers.
Prerequisites:
- Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks reference checks verification of work history verification of any required academic credentials licenses and/or certifications a motor vehicle check verification of DOT certification a credit check employment eligibility verification and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College. Please note St. Olaf College reserves the right to conduct periodic background checks at its sole discretion.
