Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated General Laborer to support our precision metal fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of tasks including material handling machine operation support part preparation cleaning and assembly. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials and parts onto machines such as lasers press brakes or weld tables.
- Perform deburring grinding sanding and cleaning of metal components.
- Inspect parts for defects or inconsistencies and notify appropriate personnel.
- Operate basic hand and power tools (e.g. grinders drills tape measures).
- Safely operate forklift to load/unload raw materials and component parts.
- On occasion cross-train and operate some or all the following production equipment: Press brake turret stud gun and wide belt sander.
- Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of shop tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced team environment.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and lift.
