Description

St. Johns School is seeking a full-time Visual Arts teacher. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with upper school students (grades 9-12). Visual Art teachers at St. Johns work together to create a cohesive curriculum. Primary responsibilities:

Teach a variety of Visual Arts courses in Upper School
Serve as an advisor to 8-10 students
Demonstrate proficiency with Studio 2D Art 3D Art and/or Digital Media
Proficiency with other artforms including architecture or photography a plus

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Art/Art Education; Masters or Master of Fine Arts in Art Studio Art or Art Education with graduate hours in the teaching specialty preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience
Experience teaching a variety of art forms (painting sculpture metals printmaking photography film digital art architecture) a plus
Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills
