POSITION AVAILABLE: Special Education Teacher ï½ Long Term Substitute
POSITION LOCATION: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) with placement at the ELC ï½ New London located in New London MN.
POSITION SUMMARY:The Special Education Teacher identifies designs evaluates and provides individual educational instruction and programming for a small caseload of special education students with Paraprofessional support in the classroom.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Designs and implements appropriate educational and/or behavioral programs for students to meet specific needs and goals of the students; participates and conducts portions of the evaluations and observations to determine special education eligibility of students placed in the program and conducts periodic assessments to determine educational progress of the students; conducts and/or participates in IEP Meetings for students in the program; performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree required. Emotional/Behavior Disorder (E/BD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) licensure from MDE is preferred but not necessary if willing or in the process of getting licensure. Teacher will provide services to students in a self-contained all day setting collaborating with paraprofessionals and other member school district staff. Must have good organizational and communication skills.
CONTRACT/SALARY:This long-term substitute (185-day) position begins on or around August 3 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Bachelors degree salary range of $54477to $74870. Masters salary range of $64965 to $96796. PhD salary range of $74515 to $98387. Salary depending on education qualifications abilities and experience.
