We are seeking a compassionate creative and highly organized Art Therapist to join our hospices Grief Support Services team. The ideal candidate will be licensed in the State of Ohio and board-certified in Art Therapy (ATR-BC) with demonstrated experience supporting individuals through grief and/or end-of-life care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

This role is vital in delivering meaningful therapeutic art-based programs for grieving adults. The Art Therapist will facilitate group sessions coordinate quarterly events and support staff and volunteers with training and resources for creative engagement with families. This position involves some travel in the Northeast Ohio region.

  • Facilitate grief support groups using a variety of art modalities primarily serving grieving adults.
  • Plan and lead quarterly art therapy programs tailored to individuals coping with grief and loss.
  • Provide training and guidance to hospice staff and volunteers on the use of art activities in family settings.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of supplies ordering and preparing materials as needed.
  • Track attendance and maintain up-to-date rosters for all support group participants.
  • Collaborate with the bereavement team to develop meaningful and diverse offerings for the community.
  • Assist in gathering information and supporting efforts to identify grant funding opportunities.
  • Maintain professional documentation and follow ethical and clinical guidelines as outlined by licensing boards.

SUCCESS CAPABILITIES:

  • Masters degree in Art Therapy or related field.
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio to practice art therapy.
  • Board Certified (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
  • Experience in grief counseling bereavement or end-of-life care settings strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage compassionately with individuals in emotional distress.
  • Skilled in a wide range of art mediums and comfortable tailoring creative activities to diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently manage multiple responsibilities and maintain organized records.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northeast Ohio and work occasional evenings.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience with program development or community outreach.
  • Familiarity with grant research and basic fundraising principles.
  • Enthusiastic about bringing creativity empathy and healing to individuals and families in times of loss.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Compliance to Annual Flu Shot Policy or ability to provide exemption documentation
  • Provide an active auto insurance policy as a licensed driver in the State of Ohio with the proper level of coverage as directed
  • Provide an active drivers license
  • Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High level of integrity ethics and professionalism.
