Our global network includes facilities in Canada the United States and Hungary ensuring regional expertise and global Position:The Fabrication Co-op student will support daily fabrication shop operations in a heavy manufacturing and nuclear-quality controlled environment. The student will assist with sandblasting material handling preparation for welding and painting shop housekeeping and production support tasks while working under the supervision of qualified position provides exposure to industrial automation manufacturing and nuclear-industry quality Youll Be Doing:Sandblasting & Surface PreparationOperate sandblast equipment under supervisionPrepare weldments and fabricated parts for paint and coatingMask threaded features machined surfaces nameplates and inspection areasClean parts to remove mill scale rust oil and contaminationPerform post-blast blow-off and cleaning to meet coating requirementsStage components for paint departmentGeneral Shop SupportMaterial handling using pallet jacks carts and cranes (training provided)Assist welders and fitters with part staging and fit-up preparationDeburring and grinding edges of fabricated componentsAssist in part kitting for assembliesAssist in packaging and shipment preparationLabel and organize parts per job travelerNuclear-Quality & Housekeeping DutiesMaintain shop cleanliness and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) controlSegregate carbon steel vs stainless steel tools and materialsSupport material traceability (tagging stamping traveler handling)Follow documented procedures and work instructionsAssist with tool organization and controlled storageSupport inventory and consumables restockingSafety ResponsibilitiesWear required PPE (respirator blast hood hearing protection gloves steel-toe boots)Follow lockout/tagout and confined blasting proceduresFollow respiratory protection and dust control proceduresReport hazards immediatelyParticipate in daily toolbox talksWhat Were Looking For:Currently enrolled in High School College or Technical programAble to lift 50 lb (23 kg)Comfortable working in a noisy industrial environmentMechanically inclinedReliable attendance and punctualityInterest in welding machining millwright or manufacturing tradesPrevious shop farm automotive or construction experience preferredWHMIS 2015 training Working at Heights (asset)Students should be enrolled in a post-secondary academic program that requires successful completion of a co-op/work ConditionsHeavy industrial fabrication environmentExposure to noise dust grinding and blasting operationsStanding/walking for most of shiftIndoor manufacturing facilityWhy Join Us:Here at Eclipse Automation creation and innovation are at our core and our culture reflects that.
