Hematologist / Oncologist (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Hematologist/Oncologist provides comprehensive evaluation diagnosis and treatment of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the blood and cancer. This role involves delivering evidence-based medical care coordinating multidisciplinary oncology services and supporting patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic disorders and solid and hematologic malignancies
- Diagnose and treat conditions including anemia thrombosis coagulation disorders leukemia lymphoma and solid tumors
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapies and supportive care
- Provide outpatient oncology care and inpatient consultation services as needed
- Monitor treatment response and manage therapy-related side effects and complications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiation oncology surgery pathology radiology pharmacy and palliative care
- Participate in tumor boards and care planning conferences
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment options prognosis and survivorship care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement patient safety and outcomes initiatives
- Supervise and educate advanced practice providers residents or fellows as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory accreditation and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency program
- Completion of an accredited hematology/oncology fellowship program
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility

- Ability to sit stand and move throughout clinical environments
- Manual dexterity for examinations and office-based procedures
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and treatment monitoring
Requirements
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
