Job Summary

Position Purpose:

To insure inbound material are properly sampled inspected tested coded labeled for facility processing in
compliance with permits and waste analysis plan.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for performing routine tasks and analyses on hazardous waste non-hazardous waste and product samples in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Sample inbound waste material & site generated materials.
  • Prepare composite samples for Laboratory testing.
  • Code material based on Waste Information Profile (WIP) for facility handing and processing.
  • Record and enter facility processing codes into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Create sample identification labels.
  • Facilitate communication to resolve paperwork issues for incoming material.
  • Follow plant safety procedures including use and understanding of proper PPE for drum checking and sampling.
  • Assists in compiling and reporting of analysis date including QA/QC data for review.

Work Environment:

Working outdoors 90% of the time.


Qualifications :

Education / Experience / Background: 

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent required.
  • Related work experience of 1 to 2 years in the hazardous waste industry is preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Computer literate.
  • Self-motivated.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training: 

  • 24 HAZWOPER Training.
  • Chemical Hygiene Training.

Additional Information :

Hourly Pay Range: Minimum of $25 to a maximum of $26
