What You Will Experience In This Role:
As a Security Engineer you will report to the Sr. Manager of Cybersecurity. This role emphasizes protecting IT infrastructure from cyber threats and ensuring operational efficiency upkeep and reliable operation of infrastructure. This role requires a broad understanding of security principles threat mitigation and compliance best practices.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a broad security role covering network security application security incident response and compliance requirements.
The following are Security Engineer daily duties:
- Monitor security alerts and assist in incident identification containment and remediation.
- Collaborate with engineers on network and infrastructure security improvement projects across the CAMP enterprise.
- Configure and support security tools like end point protection (Crowdstrike) WAF SIEM endpoint protection and patching vulnerability scanners.
- Assist in security audits compliance execution evidence gathering.
- Perform security assessments vulnerability scanning and risk analysis.
- Help implement security best practices across corporate IT.
- On call rotation required.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge across a breadth of systems and security concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Crowdstrike end point protection and configuration
- Experience with managing and understanding of network architecture including firewalls routers switches and WAF software
- Take ownership and follow through with projects and tasks until completion
- Manage relationships and expectations with multiple stakeholders and multiple teams primarily the Security & GRC and Infrastructure teams
- Monitor systems for security breaches analyze potential threats and swiftly respond to incidents. Assist others (both the immediate team and cross-functional teams) in researching/troubleshooting issues and incidents
- Monitor SIEM and security event logs create tickets and ensure issues are seen to completion
- Ensure and audit systems are fully patched and secure across the enterprise.
- User and Group Management Access Control and Security Hardening experience
- Document all system and security changes
You Have:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Equivalent work experience acceptable
- 2 Years Experience in System and Security Administration
- Experience with managing CrowdStrike
- Experience with configuring monitoring and troubleshooting Okta MFA/SSO
- Experience configuring monitoring and researching issues through a SIEM (Sumo Logic)
- Comfortable with virtualized & cloud environments (Nutanix Acropolis Hyper-V AWS Azure)
- Knowledge of both Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems
- Experience with and Automox software is a plus
- Basic scripting skills (Python Bash Power Shell) and HTML is a plus.
- Security specific certification (CompTIA Security SSCP CISSP) is a plus. CISSP preferred
