About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and customer focused Starting Well Facilities Officer to join our Starting Well Directorate within Early Help & Targeted Family Support. You will play a key role in ensuring that the MyPlace Community and Youth Centre Haverings Childrens Centres and other Starting Well buildings are operated efficiently safely and cost-effectively.

This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for shift duty functions including reception cleaning minor repairs security ICT grounds maintenance and health and safety. You will ensure all building users operate safely and any customer or H&S concerns are addressed swiftly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day building operations and ensure compliance with health and safety standards when on shift.
  • Support with reception arrangements and cleaning schedules.
  • Promote the use of Starting Well facilities and services to the community.
  • Carry out minor repairs and ad-hoc cleaning duties as required.
  • Work flexibly including evenings and weekends to meet service needs.
  • Engage with service users including vulnerable children young people and families ensuring safeguarding and risk assessments are in place.
  • Set up tech (projectors speakers TVs etc.) to support bookings as required.

What Were Looking For

  • Experience: Shift managing or duty managing public buildings health and safety compliance and working with young people (including those with complex needs).
  • Skills: Strong organisational and communication skills ability to promote services and facilities and foster relationships.
  • Qualifications: First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Commitment to safeguarding equality diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of computers TVs projectors and connecting leads.
