The Harborview Medical Center Social Work Department has an outstanding opportunity for aPrevention and Education Manager to join the Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center (HATC).
WORK SCHEDULE
Part-Time / 34 Hours/Week
Day Shift
This position is expected to last through 06/30/26
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate HATC programs education and prevention learning objectives and learning activities in accordance with city county and statewide grant funding requirements.
Supervise HATCs prevention staff students and volunteers.
Demonstrate expertise in the delivery of prevention and education services required of Community Sexual Assault Program (CSAP) standards for King County.
Present education forums in topic areas including child maltreatment sexual assaults and forms of violence through the lenses of equity diversity and inclusion.
Organize HATC education forums by recruiting and vetting external presenters with expertise in related fields. Manage the registration tracking and evaluation of learning outcomes for all attendees.
Stay abreast of trends in child maltreatment sexual assaults and other forms of violence by conducting regular outreaches to schools healthcare providers and community groups.
Through networking and outreaches connect community members in need of support to HATC services.
Develop training materials and educational curriculum on topic areas related to child maltreatment sexual assaults and other forms of violence.
Participate in the pursuit of grant funding to support the Prevention and Education program. Participation includes exploring new funding opportunities writing grant proposals and gathering data for grant applications as indicated.
Strong candidates will have prior experience managing large-scale projects with diverse groups of community stakeholders as well as experience leading or co-leading work groups/advisory boards. Two or more years of experience supervising and or managing staff through the lenses of equity diversity and inclusion is preferred. Prior experience writing managing and evaluating outcomes for grant funding as well as experience managing budgets is a plus.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Social Work or Public Health and a minimum of two years of experience supervising staff or managing programs.
Knowledge of prevention strategies that mitigate sexual assaults other forms of violence and child maltreatment at the community level.
Must be able to regularly attend in-person meetings within King County including occassional evening and weekend community meetings.
