The Position

Carter Newell has an excellent opportunity available in our Brisbane office for someone looking to begin their career in the legal industry as a Legal Office Assistant. This entrylevel role offers broad exposure to legal administration and provides valuable experience across the firm.

As a Legal Office Assistant you will support the daytoday operations of the office through a variety of administrative tasks including:

  • Internal and external deliveries including document lodgment (court filing titles office)
  • Covering reception and assisting with meeting room setup for meetings conferences seminars and presentations.
  • Photocopying scanning printing and mailroom assistance
  • Monitoring and ordering stationery and kitchen supplies
  • Archiving and filing assistance
  • Daily banking and other finance duties
  • Assistance to business support teams; Marketing IT Finance People & Culture and Knowledge.
  • General office support duties

This role is offered initially on a 12month contract with the potential for advancement into legal secretarial roles or administrative positions within IT Finance Marketing or other business support areas upon completion of the contract.

This is a fulltime position and remuneration will be in accordance with the Legal Services Award 2020.

Essential Experience and Criteria

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Motivated to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Smart professional presentation;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel skills;
  • A proactive highly organised approach with the ability to multi-task
  • A desire to learn and grow within a supportive environment.
