Biocatalysis Intern

The main activities and responsibilities

• Biocatalysis Activities
  Basic enzymatic assays (activity stability comparison under different conditions).
  Preparation of buffers solutions reaction mixtures and experimental controls.
  Comparison of enzyme variants supports or simple conditions.
• Analysis and Documentation
  Accurate and well-organized recording of experimental data.
  Identification of basic trends in activity and stability.
  Preparation of summaries results and conclusions in a clear project-oriented format.
• Enzyme Immobilization
  Introduction to immobilization concepts (adsorption entrapment polymeric carriers).
  Preparation and initial characterization of immobilized biocatalysts.
  Preliminary evaluation of reusability and stability.
• General Laboratory Support
  Safe handling of reagents equipment and laboratory materials.
  Interaction with biocatalysis chemistry analytics and MS&T scientists according to project needs.

The Ideal Candidate

• Knowledge of biochemistry and enzymology.
• Solid foundation in organic chemistry and reactivity.
• Basic laboratory skills.
• Ability to analyze simple results and work in an organized manner.
• Motivation to learn about biocatalysis applied to industrial processes.
