About the Role
As our Stock Agent you will be the trusted advisor and key point of contact for livestock clients across the Rockhampton region. Working closely with local producers and the wider branch team youll support on-farm success by providing guidance on livestock sales general merchandise nutrition and supplement products and animal health solutions.
Youll assist with sale preparation activities including weighing processing vaccinating and drenching cattle on farm while also identifying opportunities to cross-sell Elders broader range of products and services. This is a relationship-driven role focused on building strong client connections and driving new business across the region.
Responsibilities
As a Stock Agent you will:
Develop and maintain strong service-based relationships with livestock clients
Coordinate and conduct on-farm livestock assessments and prepare sale listings
Facilitate livestock sales through auctions paddock sales feedlot programs or online platforms
Provide accurate market insights and price expectations to clients
Identify cross-selling opportunities across agency finance insurance and retail
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of livestock markets trends and seasonal factors
About You
To succeed at Elders you have:
Previous experience in livestock handling (e.g. station/ feedlot work) or sales processing
Excellent communication negotiation and client service skills
The ability to assess livestock condition and value with accuracy
A current drivers licence and selling license (or willingness to obtain one)
A genuine passion for rural communities and the agriculture industry
Ability to provide proof of Q-Fever vaccination or immunity or willingness to obtain
