This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities In this role you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications quality standards safety requirements and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries Division in Houston TX
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
- Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality timely implementation within the targeted cost.
- Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged tested installed and commissioned.
- Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation best practices and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications for the role
- A Bachelors degree in Chemical Mechanical Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or other engineering degree.
- 8 or more years experience preferred working as an engineer with Distributed Control Systems and 3 or more years of experience with Safety Instrumented Systems
- Sound knowledge of engineering techniques processes and tools
- Knowledge of Functional Safety standards and processes
- A collaborative approach to working demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills
- A high level of self-motivation curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies
- Candidates must already haveworkauthorization that wouldpermitthem to work for ABB in the US
