Job Summary

The Senior Program Coordinator for Pre-Orientation & Academic Engagement Programs supports the planning coordination and implementation of university-sponsored pre-orientation and new student experiences that facilitate a welcoming transition for new undergraduate students. Grounded in the Jesuit commitment to cura personaliscare for the whole personthis role contributes to programs that encourage learning reflection and early engagement prior to the start of the academic year and beyond.

The Senior Program Coordinator manages day-to-day logistics supports student staff assists with communications and registration processes and collaborates with campus partners to ensure inclusive mission-aligned pre-orientation and academic engagement programs.

Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Program Coordination & Implementation

  • Coordinate assigned pre-orientation programs or program components including schedules materials and daily operations.

  • Assist with program design and execution that reflects Jesuit values inclusive excellence and student learning outcomes.

  • Serve as a point of contact for students participating in pre-orientation programs.

  • Provide on-site support and problem-solving during pre-orientation programs.

  • Provide supervision and leadership for all institutional yield and student success programming.

  • Coordinate and supervise first-year student success and enrollment programming as directed including summer experiences and transition programming.

Operations & Logistics

  • Manage logistical details including housing assignments meals transportation supplies and vendor coordination.

  • Support registration and check-in processes using Slate CRM system.

  • Maintain accurate participant rosters and program records.

  • Assist with risk management planning and ensure adherence to university policies and procedures.

Student Outreach

  • Assist in the creation of student outreach materials including emails portal content website updates and social media content.

  • Respond to inquiries from students and families regarding programs in a timely and professional manner.

  • Support outreach efforts designed to increase awareness and participation in key programs among incoming students.

  • Ensure communications use inclusive accessible language and reflect Jesuit mission and values.

Student Staff & Peer Leader Support

  • Assist with the recruitment training and supervision of student leaders supporting pre-orientation and academic engagement programs.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to student staff.

  • Support training sessions focused on leadership development relationship building and customer service.

  • Model professionalism and ethical practice in all student interactions.

Collaboration & Campus Partnerships

  • Work closely with campus partners including the Office of the Registrar Student Affairs Campus Ministry Admissions Academic Affairs and Campus Safety Services.

  • Support faculty staff and campus partners involved in pre-orientation programming.

  • Participate in planning meetings and working groups related to new student transition and success.

Assessment & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with collecting assessment data including participation metrics and student feedback.

  • Support the preparation of reports and summaries to inform program improvements.

  • Contribute ideas for enhancing program quality accessibility and student engagement.

Requisite Qualifications

  • Typically a Bachelors degree or equivalent. A Masters degree is preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge skills and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education student leadership development or programming.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: student leadership development programming student support and orientation experience.

  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing written communication to constituents supervisees and external audiences.

  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated computer competency and ability to regularly learn and use new platforms software and technologies.

Working Conditions & Expectations

  • Evening and weekend work required during peak periods.

  • High level of student interaction and collaboration with campus partners during peak seasons.

  • Availability for overnight travel required for pre-orientation program supervision.

  • This role is a campus-based position that works on the Loyola Marymount University Westchester campus in Los Angeles California.

Staff Regular

Salary range

$61800.00 - $77300.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
