Job Title:LANDSIDE ATTENDANT I

Shift Schedule: Morning Shift: 6:00AM to 2:30PM (30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks)will also be required to fill in on all shifts as needed.

(Full-time 40-hour work week with rotating days off)

Starting Rate:$19.9006 PER HOUR / $41393.2141 ANNUAL

JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to airport customers through multiple potential points of interaction. Patrol the parking facilities and curbsides for potential issues and report any findings to the Shift Supervisor or other appropriate personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  1. Provideexcellentcustomerserviceandassist patrons promptly and courteously.
  2. Monitorstaffandperformregularpatrolsinallparkingfacilitiesincludingsurfacelotsandgaragesand allcurbsidesincludingdeparturesarrivalsandgroundtransportationoperationsareasas assigned and directed.
  3. Providepatronswithaccurateinformationregardingparkingratesavailability ground transportationoperationsairportinformationand directions across multiple communication avenues.
  4. Assist patrons with locating theirvehiclesinapromptand courteous manner.
  5. Assistpatronswithgroundtransportationneedsandoptionsinapromptandcourteousmanner.
  6. Assist patrons requiring a jump start in a prompt and courteous manner.
  7. Responsible for thetimelyandaccuratecompletion ofthe nightly licenseplateinventory.
  8. Responsible for performing spacecounts in a timely and efficient manner as and wheredirected.
  9. Responsibleforvarioustasksonthecurbsidesincludingstaffingthetaxistandandensuringthatallground transportation operations are running efficiently at all times.
  10. Responsibleforensuringthatvehiclesonthecurbsidesarenotleftunattendedandarestoppedonlywhen actively loading / unloading.
  11. Performs various tasks in the Parking Operations Center as assigned and directed to include but not be limited to assisting patrons via intercoms telephone and in the lanes as needed.
  1. Ensures that all parking transactions in assigned exit facilities are processed in a timely and accuratemannerand in accordance with all Authority and departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Maintains an accurate record of all revenuecollected and responsibly handles cash.
  3. Adheres to all Authorityand departmental policies procedures and guidelines.
  4. Ensuresthatallworkspacesparkingfacilitiescurbsidesboothsanddepartmentalvehiclesarekeptclean and are always organized.
  5. Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of three years of direct customer service experience required.
  2. Experience working in an airport environment preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. PossessavaliddriverslicenseandmustmeetNAAdrivingrecordrequirements.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:Computerized parking fee computer; laptop and hand-held unit for collection of daily license plate inventory; iPad for looking up vehicle license plates and other tasks as required; multi-line telephone system; 2-way intercom system in parking entrances and exits; motor vehicle with automatic transmission; electric vehicle DVR for CCTV footage research/playback; 2-way radio; booth alarm drop safe personal computer portable vehicle jump starter.

This job entails walking sitting and/or standing for long periods of time; extending and retracting the arms; a great deal of stretching to assist patrons; when entering certain booths you must step up and down approximately 10 inches to enter and exit; extensive walking required which can be from booth to booth as needed; to and from the lanes to assist patrons; to and from multiple other booths to provide breaks to other employees; to and from the parking offices and terminals to conduct business; in and around all parking facilities to include all surface lots and garages; in and around all curbsides: to and from restrooms in main airport terminal; walking on uneven surfaces including inclining and declining ramps; conducting license plate inventory vehicle counts and/or regular patrols in all parking facilities and curbsides which may include inclining and declining ramps ; holding a hand-held computer and/or iPad in one hand and punching in letters and numbers with the other hand as needed in order to obtain license plate inventory or locate vehicles; bending; stooping; driving a vehicle with automatic transmission; driving an electric vehicle; operating a portable vehicle jump starter.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:This position is required to work outside in ALL weather conditions on a daily basis.When working throughout the airport you must be always very conscious of the vehicular traffic movement around you as well as all gate arms and other equipment. License plate inventory and all other operations must continue regardless of weather conditions.

DRIVING RECORD REQUIREMENTS: All drivers must be at least 21years of age licensed for at least 3years have the type of license required by their state for the vehicles operated and meet the following driving record standards.

  • License is active and NOT suspended.
  • Any employee or applicant who has been licensed in their state for less than 3 years must provide a copy of their previous driving record to Human Resources.
  • An employee or applicant may have a North Carolina or Virginia drivers license as long as they reside in that state.
  • An unacceptable DMV driving record includes the following violations during the most recent 3-year period:

Committing a Felony with a Motor Vehicle

DWI/DUI

Drug Offense

Eluding a Police Officer

Foreign citizens with no historical driving record available to us

Hit Run / Leaving the Scene of an accident

Lending an Operators License or Registration to Another

Open Container Violation

Passing a Stopped School Bus

Racing or Speed Contest Violation

Reckless Driving

Speeding 25 mph or more above speed limit

Suspended License History Drivers who have had 3 or more license suspensions as a result of moving violations

Temporary Operators Permit

Two or more at fault accident convictions

Vehicle Manslaughter/Homicide

Three or more moving violations within the past 12 months

Note: Texting or cell phone violations are considered moving violations because they increase the chance of being in an accident.
