About the Role

Were looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale the services that power the Made Card and homeowner platform. Youll contribute to the design development and maintenance of core systems while collaborating closely with product frontend and infrastructure teams. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems and wants to grow within a fast-paced startup environment.

What Youll Do

• Feature Development: Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.

• Database & Systems: Design implement and optimize data models across Postgres DynamoDB and Redis.

• Infrastructure: Contribute to deployments and scaling using Kubernetes Docker and AWS.

• Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers product managers and designers to deliver end-to-end features.

• Code Quality: Write clean maintainable and testable code while participating in code reviews.

• Performance & Reliability: Ensure backend services are performant secure and resilient.

• Problem Solving: Debug troubleshoot and resolve backend issues across staging and production environments.

• Continuous Learning: Stay current with backend technologies and bring new ideas to improve our stack and workflows.

Ideal Background

• 35 years of backend engineering experience.

• Proficiency in Python and experience building distributed web applications.

• Familiarity with Postgres DynamoDB and Redis for data modeling and optimization.

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful services.

• Understanding of Kubernetes Docker and AWS infrastructure.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering production-ready systems.

• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
