Priority consideration will be provided to internal applicants first. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Requirements: Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Position Summary:

  • This positionis responsible forcollecting semen and inseminating hens inchickenhouses.Inspecting semen todeterminequality andquantity for use aswell as inspection of hens for evidence of production.Other duties may be assigned.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for insemination process by equipment set upsuch as:funnel/tip collection bird platform step stool microscope/densimeter etc. (10%)

  • Retrieval andmeticulousprocessing of males to collect semenand females toinseminate (50%)

  • Replace males based on fertility numbers (10%)

  • Inspection offemalesfor evidence of production(10%)

  • Utilize microscope/densimeter todeterminesemen quality;utilizevisual todeterminesemen quantity (10%)

Other duties responsibilities and activities:

  • These may change or be assigned at any time with or without noticesuch as:washing/disinfection vehicles; sanitize AI breakroom; trim beaks/vents; properly euthanize weak/ill birdsin accordance withcompany policy (10%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare:

  • Thejobsiteis abiosecureenvironment whichrequires showeringchanging clothingand footwear before entering the facility.Appropriate clothing and footwearisprovided by the Company.No jewelry may be worn on thejobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered byappropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (chickens ducks birds etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Physical:Mustuse safe lifting techniques.Willoccasionallylift and/or move using two Team Members up to80 poundsto move items such as bird coops. While performing the duties of this job the employee isregularlyrequired to stand majority of shift (concrete floor) and walk up to 2 miles; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reachwith hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend up to1000times per day; wrist movement with pipettes up to2000times per day; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex.Specific vision abilities required by the job include meticulous close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Tools and Equipment:Pipettor Microscope Densimeter Pressure Washer

  • Personal Protective Equipment Required:Safetygogglessafety glasseschemical gloves and rubber boots are required.Earplugs will be used as needed.NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.

  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectantssuch as SynergizeVirocidClorox Wipes Bleach Lysol etc.

  • Environment: Requiredto work on wet slippery surfaces and also work in hot dry extreme dusty wet and cold environments.

  • Safety:TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication Respiratory Protection LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected toidentifyaddressand mitigate safety related risks.
